During the Oscars last night Chris Rock used his platform as host to slam Hollywood for their lack of diversity.
His takedown of Hollywood was straight to point as he pulled no punches in classic Chris Rock style.
While many have praised Rock, there have been some to criticize him for going too far with his jokes.
The Charlotte Hornets’ Jeremy Lin Tweeted his disappointment in the joke
Rock was also criticized by Shaun King (Columnist for the Daily News and Black Lives Matter activist) for his use of rape and lynchings as joke material.
Can everyone please step-down from their soapbox and cool out with the fake outrage.
Does Chris Rock’s comedy push the limit? Yes, but while he was making light of a stereotype he was also pointing out the hypocrisy in the 2nd part of the joke…
“If anybody’s upset about that joke, just tweet about it on your phone that was also made by these kids,”
You can be angry about Rock’s joke but where’s the anger concerning child labor and poor work conditions in China?
If there is something to be said, “It’s On Broadway” to step up and say it!!
