House WILL Vote on Hurricane Sandy Relief Bill!

Don’t understand why Speaker Boehner and Eric Cantor had to be shamed into doing the right thing for Hurricane Sandy victims.

Politico is reporting….

After a barrage of criticism over his decision to scrap a Tuesday night vote on a disaster aid bill, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Wednesday that the House will vote in two phases to provide billions in relief to Hurricane Sandy victims. On Friday it will vote on a measure “to direct resources to the National Flood Insurance Program;” then on Jan. 15 it will take up “the remaining supplemental request” for Sandy victims. Boehner did not detail the dollar amounts of the measures. “Getting critical aid to the victims of Hurricane Sandy should be the first priority in the new Congress, and that was reaffirmed today with members of the New York and New Jersey delegations,” Boehner said in a joint statement with House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.).
